Horizon Eye Care, Horizon Optical and Horizon Laser & Eye Surgery Center are all part of one comprehensive eyecare practice with six convenient locations, including optical shops and an ambulatory surgery center in Southern New Jersey.
We are the largest eye care center and the first eye surgery center in the area. Our Services
What We Offer
In addition to general eye care, glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses, we provide several types of laser vision correction procedures such as LASIK, LASEK and PRK. We test and treat for glaucoma, corneal disease and retinal problems. Advanced cataract surgery with the latest in intraocular lenses is performed in our ambulatory surgery center as well as surgery for glaucoma and diabetes including SLT and ALT, Lucentis, Avastin, and treatments for conditions from dry eyes to macular degeneration. We have the most locations, offer early morning, evening and Saturday appointments to accommodate our patient’s busy schedules.

Our skilled physicians, Matthew K. Perez, MD PhD, John P. McLaughlin, MD, Michael A. Klufas, MD, Dean N. Shissias OD, Andrea J. Mazur OD, Jill V. Vivadelli OD, Nickolas Shissias, OD, Sara Shkalim Shissias, OD, Lindsey A. Petsch, OD, Dr. Xu and Howard J. Gross MD (Retired) have decades of combined experience in Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean Counties. With locations in Margate, Ocean City, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway Township, Cape May Court House, and Manahawkin the practice is able to offer convenient hours Monday through Saturday. The offices are open from early morning to evening with handicap accessibility and electronic health records.

My little girl had to see an ophthalmologist for something she had on her eye. I made an appointment for her and it was mistakenly put as a regular check up and the doctor that she was scheduled to see did not take her insurance. Someone from the office called me to tell me and put me on a brief hold to talk to the doctor and he agreed to see her anyway. Thank you Dr Shissias for seeing my little girl. It was her first time there so being a new patient and them doing that means a lot. And my husband said everyone in there were great as so was the lady I spoke to on the phone. Again Thank you all!!

This office was easy to find, clean, and very nice inside. The staff was helpful both over the phone and in person. There was no wait for my (Friday morning) appointment, they moved quickly, but I didn't feel rushed. I also picked out new glasses, which was a good experience. I would come here again.
